Pottermore wand , actually is most accurate in describing your personality isnt the sorting hat but the wand. in the chapter where you go to ollivander's, read up on the phoenix core and apple wood. it will tell you what kind of wizards commonly have the wands and sometimes what kind of magic can be done. the length is barely significant, only matching your height. the idea that it is quite flexible means tat if the wand were to be won by another wizard (for instance you are disarmed) then the alliance of the wand is flexible and will quite easily change its alliance to the new owner, which isn't the best thing you would want.
